Beg, Barter, Or Bride | The Dream Wedding of Kurt + Kerry | Balboa Peninsula - 08|23|09

It is just befitting that our first blog travels to a story that is heart-warming and inspiring. It is no accident that I stumbled on Kerry's Craigslist ad on July 8,2009 at 8:20 am. At the height of a busy Wednesday morning at my full time job, I decided to hit Craigslist for a few minutes (which has been part of my daily routine) just to check for great buying opportunities on photography "toys". Bannering the title "My Wedding Dream, help me with parts of...?", it caught my fancy... Click... Reply... Send Message. At 9:27 am (same day), Kerry replied to my email and Red Glass Photography was on board.

Last Sunday, we were fortunate to meet Kurt and Kerry including their 4 kids - Ryan (15), Sebastiana (10), Tristan (6), and Carter (3) for a day of engagement/family photo session. Balboa Peninsula was our location for the following reasons: Kurt & Kerry met at NB/Lido Island (not that far from Balboa), on every pregnancy they would walk around Balboa, Kurt loves to fish and Kerry... well she gets seasick, and when I asked Kerry what reminds her of Love her answer was the BEACH. From the get go, you know this couple loves to be around people... no ice breakers needed, it was like we have known one another for ages. As for the kids... they were plain kids at play; entertaining and funny! They were just rays of sunshine on a hot sunny Sunday afternoon.

Asked the kids "If Dad and Mom were SuperHeroes, who would they be?"

Kurt - Super Fisherman because he catches all the big fish and lets them go (Sebastiana), Superdad because he is awesome (Tristan), Rockamon "because I picked that" according to Carter.

Kerry - Frost because she is shinny and pretty (Sebastiana), Bug Woman because she loves bugs and nature (Tristan), and "blank stare" from Carter.

And if Dad and Mom were cartoon characters - Kurt would be Popeye or Knuckles from The Misadventures of Flapjack, and Kerry would be Spongebob :)

... wonder what was in her Craigslist ad? Follow her story here, her video here ... and her website here.
